POETRY. FICTION. COMICS. INTERVIEWS. CONTEMPORARY ART.
CAROUSEL (1983-2003) was an exquisitely produced hybrid literary/arts magazine representing new & established creators, with a focus on positioning Canadian talent within an international context. This innovative journal — released in print form for 43 perfect-bound offset issues, and then as free-to-access online editions from issues 44-51 (December 2020-23) — prided itself on presenting work across many genres: if the work was original & engaging, we strove to give it a home!
Every adventurous issue of our bi-annual journal featured:
CANADIAN & INTERNATIONAL WRITING
presenting a hefty selection of new poetry & fiction — in all moods, styles & formats
PAGEWORKS
providing a platform for grey areas, we embrace great ideas that make innovative use of the printed page
ARTIST FEATURES
focusing on searching out the uncommon, we take pride in unveiling provocative new art works
Please note that with the release of issue 51, CAROUSEL has ceased publication
Published semi-annually by volunteers; we gratefully acknowledge the financial assistance of the Central Students’ Association and the students of the University of Guelph.
